  2. I think rhythm in poetry is an awesome tool and that of finding suitable hinge or stopping points. This poem is lovely for all those reasons. Because you have set up all those pauses when you bring to the part about ocean rolling like/a film unreeling

    there’s like this little micro pause there between the two and so, for me, it’s not a matter of it being like a film unreeling, it actually happens. I think this is a perfect ‘living’ poem.

    • Love what you say about the rhythm of the piece.. very often it forms itself, at least when I’m writing ‘free’ verse. I had hoped that readers would experience that pause..You made my day!
