Cold Shoulder

January 30, 2012

a polar ice-cap northerly
oblique and gusty, muscles seized
by Arctic drifts ā€“ full-frontal freeze.

chill-lipped we shuffle, glacially
eyes lance and wince in side-swipe glance
intent on swerving stubbornly.

the mercury, free-fall reprise
of polar ice-cap northerly.
